Department Process to Add a Minor (Current UCSB Students)

If you are interested in adding one of the five minors, please email the staff department undergraduate advisor at undergradadvisor@linguistics.ucsb.edu with your perm number, which minor, and any questions you may have. We don't have a form or application to add one of the linguistics minors.

The TESOL minor does require students to have taken one of the core TESOL classes (LING 139, 140, or 141) to be eligible to add the minor. To add LING 139, 140, or 141; students must join a manual waitlist to be issued an approval code during pass 2. The waitlist for Spring '24 LING 140 is now available here.
