WAIL is a form for the discussion of theoretical, descriptive, and practical studies of the indigenous languages of the Americas. It takes place on May 12th and 13th, and Mary S. Linn (of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage) will deliver this year’s keynote address. Along with stimulating talks and workshop sessions, the conference also includes a dinner at the home of Professors Marianne Mithun and Wallace Chafe.
