• British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL) Gender and Language Special Interest Group

A newly proposed special interest group that seeks to provide a forum for enabling researchers to discuss issues and promote development in this area. For information, contact Kate Segall (kate.segall@btopenworld.com).

• Committee on the Status of Women in Linguistics (COSWL)

A committee of the Linguistic Society of America, COSWL was established in 1974 to help monitor and improve the status of women in linguistics, especially with regard to discrimination, harassment, and advancement.

• Gender Awareness in Language Education

A special interest group of the Japan Association of Language Teachers (JALT) that promotes research, education, advocacy, and networking on gender-related issues in language education. To join, contact Jackie Beebe (jbeebe@gol.com).

• International Gender and Language Association (IGALA)

An international, interdisciplinary association for language and gender studies that sponsors a biennial conference. To subscribe to GALA-L, IGALA's online discussion list, click here.

• Organization for the Study of Communication, Language, and Gender (OSCLG)

• Women in Linguistics Mentoring Alliance (WILMA)
